Description:Gloeohypochnicium analogum (Bourdot & Galzin) Hjortstam, Mycotaxon 28(1): 30, 1987.

Basidiome resupinate, effused, ceraceous, hymenophore smooth to tuberculate, cream to ochraceous, margin fibrillose. Hyphal system monomitic, hyphae with clamps, thin-walled, 2-4 µm wide. Gloeocystidia numerous, cylindrical to fusiform with more or less round apex, sometimes longer than basidia, numerous oil drops present in the protoplasm, SA+. Basidia clavate to cylindrical, 40-60 x 6-10 µm, with 4-sterigmata and a basal clamp. Basidiospores subglobose to broadly ellipsoid, 8-10(-12) x 6-8 µm, warted, thick-walled, IKI-, cyanophilous.
Distribution in Europe: Germany, Poland, Russia, France, Italy, Croatia, Macedonia, Belgium, United Kingdom, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and the Caucasus. Infrequent species with presences in some European countries. Very rare in Italy, known once from Emilia-Romagna Region.
Substrata: on branch of deciduous wood.
