Remarks (internal):The genus Radulodon is primarily characterized by its hydnoid hymenial surface with long aculei (1-8 mm in length) and by globose basidiospores. Four species have been described for this genus (Ryvarden. 1976). but there has been no record from Japan. In the present study. a new combination. R. copelandii (Pat.) Maekawa (-Hydnum copelandii Pat.), is proposed.

Basidiomata resupinate, adnate, effused, ceraceous: hymenial surface buff to ochreous, hydnoid; aculei 1-8 mm in length. cylindrical or flattened, smooth, or apically fimbriate: margin thinning out, indeterminate. In section subhyaline, membranous. Hyphal system monomitic; hyphae smooth, thin- to thick-walled, nodose-septate; cystidia present or lacking; basidia clavate, sometimes sinuous or constricted, with a basal clamp, producing 4 sterigmata; basidiospores globose. smooth, slightly thick-walled, non-amyloid, non-cyanophilous.
