Remarks (internal):Originally described from Sri Lanka, also known from Tanzania as Odontiopsis hyphodontina Hjortstam & Ryvarden, and reported from Cameroon by Roberts (2000). A specimen from Brazil seems doubtful. It is otherwise known from Argentina (Hjortstam & Ryvarden, 1986). Pteridomyces sphaericosporus Boidin et al. seems to be the same (Hjortstam, 1991).
Specimens:Estado Amazonas, Yutajé, on dead deciduous wood, 12-19.IV.1997, L. Ryvarden 40594; Estado Aragua, Parque Nacional Henri Pittier, on hardwood, 25.IV.1998, L. Ryvarden 40764 and 40828.
