Description:Bjerkandera adusta (Willd.: Fr.) Karst.
Colony characteristics. Colonies (MEA 2%) spreading, cottony to woolly, white, finally cream-coloured. Reverse bleached yellow. Producing a strong smell.
Microscopy. Hyphae hyaline, 2-6 µm wide, poorly branched with narrower hyphae. Clamp connections present or absent. Arthroconidia rectangular, up to 12 µm long. Chlamydospores ellipsoidal, up to 10 µm in length. Fruit bodies absent.
