Stromata widely effused, often surrounding the twig completely, flat, black, carbonaceous, perithecia in contact, circular to ovoid, 0.15-0.25 mm diam, ostioles 3-4 sulcate (fig. 15). Asci clavate p. sp. (25-) 30-40(-50) x 5-8 µm (fig. 16). Ascospores allantoid, hyaline to subhyaline (5-)5.5-7.5 x 1.5 µm (fig. 17).
Colonies white with irregular contour, abundant aerial mycelium commonly forming threads. Conidia in orange masses, allantoid, minute, 5.5-8.5(-9.5) x 1 µm (fig. 18).
