Description:Russula purpurissata Reumaux 1996 spec. nov.
= R. purpurata Crawshay sensu Romagnesi 1967 - Les Russules d'Europe et d'Afrique du Nord: 706-710, non Crawshay1930.
Pileus 40-70 mm, convexus deinde in medio depressus, margine striatulo, Indumentum maxime velutinum, saturate violaceo-purpureum (Ségue 687-72) centro nigello. Stipe 50x10-12 mm, rectus vel ad basim leviter incurvatus, max farto-cavus, albidus, celeriter brunneo-flavo occupatus. Caro alba, fuliginea in medulla, dulcis, crustatorum odore. Caro -FeSO4: fusco-viridis. Lamellae latae (7-10 mm), crassae distantesque, magnopere venosae, in sinibus anastomosantes, fragilissima, pallide cremeae dein ochraceae. Sporae in cumulo saturo-cremeae (Iid). Sporae ellipticae, valde echinulatae cum nonnulus.dispersis cristis 7-10,5 x 5,5-7 µm. Dermatocystidia difficulter visibilia (de visu vacua sunt), e cylindraceis (x 5-8 µm) in summo strangulata, cum 0-1 dissepimento. Pilleici pili adtenuati (x 2-3 µm), longis segmentis, gracillimi atque sociati cum paucioribus majore crassitudine (x 4-6 µm) piliscapitato vel ampullaceo apice, brevibus segmentis. In silvis deciduis (carpinorum quercuumque) argilloso-calcareis.
