Description:Pileus 20-33 mm broad, up to 10 mm high, conical with broad umbo at first, with age with depressed centre, hygrophanous, not translucently striate, dark violaceous (15-17F2), when old almost blackish blue (17F2-3), velvety to brown tomentose all over, glabrescent with age. Lamellae narrowly adnate, moderately distant, narrow, orange-white, pale orange (5A2-3 to 5B3), with somewhat darker, greyish coloured edge. Stipe 20-22 x 2-3 mm, compressed, hollow, violaceous-white at apex (18AB2), downwards intensely blue (20D4, 20DE4), striate lengthwise. Context with slight unpleasant odour, like detergent. Spores 9.5-11.1 x 7.2-8.7 μ, av. 10.2 x 8.5 μm, Q = 1.2-1.3, Qav = 1.25, 5-6(-7) angled in side-view. Basidia 19-30 x 6.5-11 μm, 4-spored, clampless. Lamella edge entirely sterile. Cheilocystidia 50-65 x 8.0-16 x 2.5-4 μm, lageniform, thin-walled, with blue granular content, clampless. Pileipellis a palisade-hymeniderm of vesiculose to broadly clavate elements, 20-65 x 6.0-16 μm. Pigment brownish (in KOH), intracellular, also blue in subpellis, intracellular and some membranal patches. Vascular hyphae abundant. Brilliant granules abundant. Clamp-connections not seen.
