Description:Diagnosis: Differing from Boletus pinophilus f. pinophilus by a fresh pruinose, more liver brown pileus, with violet tint, later often totally spotted decoloring to ochre-brown, with remaining brown-orange to copper-colored zones. Stem young often pallid (whitish or even to yellowish) with no pinkish or reddish tones, which can develop later, with striking white vigorous net, on pressure turning brown. It differs also in bluish FeSO4 reaction at top of and especially in the stem. Pileipellis mainly of cylindrical hyphae.
