Remarks:This new species resembles Graphis striatula and related species in having black, striate lirellae. It is most similar to G. proserpens in having an apically carbonized excipulum only, but differs from the latter in the much larger ascospores. Ascospores of this size are rare in this group of species and occur for example in G. longula, but that species has a completely carbonized excipulum and erumpent rather than prominent lirellae with lateral thalline margin. Among species with apically carbonized excipulum, G. supertecta comes closest but differs in its immersed lirellae with pruinose labia.
