Thallus crustaceus, immersus vel granulosus, continuam coalescentes formans, KOH- , crescit super Grimmia sp. Apothecia numerosa, dispersa vel aggregata, sessilia vel subsessilia, 0.5–1 mm diam. Discus planus aurantiacus, KOH+ purpureus. Discus planus epruinoso. Margo proprius prominens. Epihymenium fuscoluteum. Hymenium et subhymenium incoloratum. Hymenium 70–90(–100) µm altum. Paraphyses 2–3 µm crassae, apicibus capitatis et ad 5–6 µm crasis, in parte epihymeniale furcatae. Asci clavate 45–60 µm longa. Ascosporae octonae polariloculares ellipsoidea, (12–)13–15 × (7–)8–11 µm magnae. Septum (1.5–)2–3 µm. Pycnidia non visa
Original description
Thallus crustose, grayish, continuous, scant or absent. Apothecia often abundant, mostly about 0.5–1 mm diam., rounded, adnate or slightly stipitate, concave at first, then flat; disk orange, epruinose; proper margin entire, smooth, persistent, slightly lighter than disk, in section consisting of a prosoplectenchymatous tissue 80–100 µm in lateral portion, thinner in basal portion; thalline margin absent; epihymenium dark golden, with numerous yellowish brown granules, K+ dark violet-red; hymenium hyaline, 70–90(–100) µm, without droplets; paraphyses with 1–2 tip cells slightly to distinctly swollen, simple to branched, 5–7 µm thick at top and 2–3 µm in the middle section, without oil drops; subhymenium hyaline; asci cylindrical, 45–60 µm, 8-spored; ascospores polarilocular, ellipsoid and colorless, (12–)13–15 × (7–)8–11 µm, septum (1.5–)2–3 µm, less than ¼ of length of spore. |
