Uredinia and telia amphigenous, mixed, scattered or loosely grouped on slightly chlorotic areas, irregularly oblong or more or less broadly ellipsoid, up to 0.5 mm long, brown to black, becoming erumpent. Urediniospores (27.5–)30– 37.5(–40) x (22.5–)25–30(–35) µm, subglobose to globose or broadly ellipsoid, wall up to 3.5 µm thick, pale yellow, strongly but sparsely echinulate, spines hyaline, 2–2.5 µm high, 4–5 µm apart, germ pores ± 2, obscure, subequatorial to more or less towards the base, pedicel fragile, deciduous, sometimes persistent, and hilum truncate, up to 10 µm wide.
